Juanpablo Avendaño Avila (Juanpablo Junto)

Born in Mexico City in 1978, he is an artist, designer, and cultural producer who develops his practice through various media and supports, such as drawing, design, moving images, spatial and object interventions, and performative art.

His recent artistic output is dominated by the superposition of color scenarios and lines that emerge as proto-poetic writing. The materialization of his processes seems to be imbued by his experience in the performative field; a sophisticated mastery of rhythm and movement that transcends surfaces is perceived. His works also reveal themselves to be configured based on a certain alternating waiting and contemplation, confessing to accompanying complex emotional and narrative processes, all the more enigmatic and captivating to the extent that the interlocutor accepts different levels of invitation.

Her career also includes the design of workshops and artistic activations, as well as the production of audiovisual content for projects such as CCD Radio, Escuchatorio, and Pequeños Misterios, whose progress and results have been exhibited in venues such as the Laboratorio para la Ciudad, the Centro de Cultura Digital, Museo Jumex. And a gallery-workshop project, Otra cosa sin nombre, which recently turned 3 years old.
